Marcus Riley is the co-founding president and co-visionary of Dream Keepers. A former basketball standout here on the Eastern
Shore, Marcus has been in many activities throughout his life. From AAU, to Parks and Recreation basketball to being a part
of the back to back State Basketball Championships with Nandua, and the State Championship run with the Nandua High Soccer
Team, Marcus has always shown himself to being a winner. However, growing up on the shore, Riley saw the disappearing of many
of the activities that he was able to do when he was a child and not on the soccer fields or basketball courts.
A former Vice President of Project Discovery, a high school dropout prevention program, he would be eventually teamed
with his cousin, Elron Savage, and they would form a partnership that lasts not only through being cousins, but also as a
brotherhood. In 2003, Marcus would come with the concept that would become Dream Keepers today. Stating to Elron about the
lost of recreation activities, Marcus state the need of having a community center to give back to the community in which the
cousins grew up in.
Today, Marcus attends Virginian Wesleyan University in Virginia Beach, Virginia, but serves as the distant President
of Dream Keepers. Ever the idealist, he continues to be instrumental for the Keepers, continuing to focus the team attention
on the missions at hand, on our community, our families, our elderly, and our youth, helping orchestrate programs that will
accomplish this need.
